PET Scan Results!

At 11:15 today I got tired of waiting for them to call me with the results so I called the office to ask if they could tell me, no they would call me back. At 12:15 they called to say the Scan was NEGATIVE!!! meaning they found no live cancer! PRAISE GOD!

So it's 2 more treatments and then I'm on the road to recovering my energy and my hair!
Look out world!

Today was my 7 day follow up from my Chemo.
The blood test was good and my next important day is next Tuesday when they rescan me to see how well the Chemo has worked.

The Dr feels we are in for very good news

My faith is in what God has planned BUT I'm looking forward to good news!

A P.O.W.

I don’t
have cancer,
but, apparently
cancer has me.

From the moment
I knew it was there,
imbedded deep
in his chest,

(the place
I have spent so many nights
with my head upon,
listening for the heart beat
that I know
better than my own.)

it has gripped me
in its claws.
It has stolen my joy,
offended my hope.

I has terrified me,
lurking behind
every smile
every touch,
even

at the unexpected
sight of him,
which has always
given me
such a thrill.

It placed itself
like a too tall
patron in the
theater of my days

The movie
keeps playing
as I lean
and rise
and duck
to see
what I saw
before
it sat down
in front of me.

The sound of cancer
is percussive.
I have heard it many times
before…

The close explosions
and peppering fire
from nearby hillsides.

An Aunt. . .
the mother who was
my childhood neighbor. . .
The people across the road
who fell asleep in their car
rather than wait for it
to take them. . .
Husbands. . .
Wives. . .
People I have grown
to love. . .
The father-in-law
I never knew. . .

Each shot,
every explosion,
turning my head
to its direction
but then,
it was always
someone else's
battle.

No longer

The silent roar
is deafening
as he and the others
fight this thing
that has changed
everything.

and I
am held captive
in the midst
of this battle

untouched
untrained
and
unarmed.

II Corinthians 12:9
But he said to me, "My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness"
Therefore I will boast gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ's power may rest on me.

After Chemo

Well I got lots of sleep last nigh but still feel tired, woke up at just before 8 and the house was quiet so I was worried Deb had slept in too but she was long gone to work. My taste buds are gone again and yet I have morning mouth!?!? How does that work?
Nausea is now gone so I could eat but since I can't taste it, it really is not that important until I'm hungry.
I have to get something in my stomach so I can take the pred and my other pills. Well have a great day all !

Good Chemo Day!!

I went to Chemo today worried that they might not let me take the treatment due to my cold and cough. They weighed me and were happy that my weight is stable, they checked my temp and called me good to go! So they poked my vain and checked my cell counts, which turned out to be good for week 4.

Treatment was very normal except that by the last bag of meds my needle or my vain were getting finiky and triggering the pump alarm. The nurses were great and kept wiggling and adjusting the needle to keep the meds flowing.

I was done by 2pm so, I went to lunch and headed up to help the kids and see that Gabe. I took my anti-nausea meds at lunch so I still felt good.

My next PET scan is scheduled for Tuesday January 26th this is the point we find out how well the treatments are working I'm praying for a complete clean scan. (I'm fully confident in Gods ability to eliminate this and am excited to do whatever is his plan "Lord if it's your will")
